Small town living in Maize school district

Maize Unified School District 266 is a public school district that is located in Maize, KS. The Maize School District includes 7 schools that serve 6,575 students in grades PK through 12.

The 2008 KSA scores show that Maize ranks consistently higher than other Kansas schools in almost every test. In 2007-2008 Kansas used the Kansas State Assessments (KSA) to test students in grades 3 though 8 and 11 in reading and math; in grades 4, 7 and 11 in science; and in grades 6, 8 and 11 in history-government. The tests are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Kansas. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
